A job that can be done in a mugfull often sends liters down the drain in many houses across the globe, Join our challange to use one mug for each time you brush!
Vid and his sister are two opposite kids. While the sister is a tough chum, Vid is fragile as a feather. His sensitivity to tap water is the reason he carries a Mug of drinking water for brushing teeth. While both kids brush their teeth for two minutes as advised by their dentist, Vid's job is done in less than a mug full i.e. 400ml while his sister sends 10 liters down the drain for the small affair. Brushing teeth is one very common activity which is associated with a simple reflex of first turning the tap on and then proceeding any further. Most of the people are too lazy to twist the tap in between brushing, so they let it drain down the basin. Especially, in the regions with water abundance, a tap left on is nothing much to worry about.
But where there is scarcity and water stress, scenario is quite different. Neel, a laborer in Chennai suburbs has narrowed his oral hygiene to chewing a neem twig followed by gargling with a mouthful of water. Water is too precious to him and his neighbors as the water reservoirs in the city are almost dry. There are places in the world, and in India, where fetching water means, walking long distances, waiting in queues and carrying it back loaded. Vid's sister’s luxury is quite unjust to a society like that of Neel's where fetching a bucket is a lot of pain and drinking a glass full of water needs some thought.
